WE SHOWED NO FEAR, WE DID NOT LOSE FAITH AND SAID A FIRM ‘YES’ TO OUR HISTORY, ROOTS AND FUTURE — DARIA MOROZOVA

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

Dear friends! Countrymen! I wholeheartedly congratulate all of us!

A truly historic event has taken place. Donbass has officially become part of the Russian Federation!

During the last referendum, the DPR residents almost unanimously voted for reunification with the great Motherland. And our voice was heard – today Russian President Vladimir Putin and Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin signed an agreement on the admission of the Republic to Russia. Together with us, this difficult path was overcome by residents of the LPR, as well Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

I sincerely thank the leadership of the Russian Federation for supporting the decision of the people of Donbass. A low bow to all citizens who took part in the vote. Despite unprecedented acts of violence and discrimination from Ukraine, we showed no fear, we did not lose faith and said a firm ‘YES’ to our history, roots and future.

For eight years, Donbass has been making tremendous efforts to implement the Minsk agreements, which are absolutely unfavourable for us from an ideological point of view, but which give us a chance to resolve the conflict through diplomacy. We were striving for Peace and looking for compromises, while Ukraine and its curators were implementing a policy of genocide and preparing for a large-scale offensive military action in Donbass. Kyiv planned to wipe the region out. The worst-case scenario was only averted thanks to the timely interference of Russia.

Now the entire Russian world stands as a united front, defending the most valuable thing that can be given to a person – the right to life. Together we will definitely win, because from now on we are at home! And we know how to protect our home like no other!

Yours faithfully, Human Rights Ombudsman in the DPR Daria Morozova
