DPR authorities to provide home appliances for 1,500 displaced persons

The DPR Ombudsman Office is planning to hand over house appliances to 1,500 displaced persons living in temporary accommodation centres, a representative of the Human Rights Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic told RIA Novosti.

“On August 19, we delivered electric stoves, refrigerators and washing machines to improve the living conditions of temporarily displaced persons. The appliances were delivered to temporary accommodation centres in Makeevka and Shakhtyorsk. We are also planning to continue the delivery and provide all temporary accommodation centres,” the interviewee said.

Earlier the Ombudsman’s Office noted that currently there are 1,544 people living in temporary accommodation centres in the territory of the Republic. Also, the Office specified that these people are registered in temporary accommodation centres under auspices of the Ombudsman Office.

In the Office of the Ombudsman, they added that hygiene products were provided for the elderly. Since the outbreak of the military conflict, 8477 people have been registered as internally displaced persons in Donbass, including 2,181 children under 18.
