Kiev confirms adding kidnapped DPR serviceman Tsemakh to exchange list

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman Detention News

Kiev authorities confirmed that they have included the former DPR serviceman Vladimir Tsemakh, who had been abducted by special services of Ukraine in June 2019, in the exchange list. This information was reported by Human rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic, DPR delegate to Minsk talks in Humanitarian Subgroup Daria Morozova.

“Mr. Tsemakh has been officially confirmed. Since the formula is “all confirmed for all confirmed” he will be part of the exchange,” Morozova noted.

Earlier, it was reported that DPR representatives in the Humanitarian Subgroup added Vladimir Tsemakh to the exchange list. This wasn’t followed by any negative response from the Ukrainian side.

Vladimir Tsemakh is a former air defence commander of militia in Snezhnoe, South of DPR. He was kidnapped from his own house in June 2019. Then, he was secretly transferred to Kiev through the contact line, bypassing the checkpoints. As revealed later, the Ukrainian side insisted that the man was involved in downing a Malaysian Boeing in Donbass in July 2014.
