Executives of the Human Rights Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross conducted a working meeting devoted to discussion of the mechanism of the search for missing persons.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the creation of an integrated coordination centre, which would include representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Lugansk People’s Republic and Ukraine. This mechanism will be aimed at creating a unified database of missing persons, as well as the exchange of biological material. The key issue is the interaction of all parties to the conflict. To this end, representatives of the ICRC were invited to develop a draft Memorandum of Understanding, which could be a guarantee of full cooperation.
