On 12 June, executives of the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic attended an extended session of the People’s Council Committee on Social Affairs and Housing, where draft law On Displaced Persons was under discussion.
At the meeting, deputies and representatives of executive authorities and local self-government bodies reviewed the proposals and comments on the draft regulatory legal act, which was submitted at the end of 2018 as part of exercising the right of the Human Rights Ombudsman to appeal to the subjects of legislative initiative.
Productive review of the proposed draft law by representatives of various departments is aimed at ensuring a comprehensive response to specific aspects of and the development of effective mechanisms for providing economic and social guarantees to displaced persons in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
