DPR Ombudsman demand Kiev to consider case on detention of DPR supporter

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman Detention News

Ombudsman of the Donetsk People’s Republic Daria Morozova demanded that Ukrainian leadership and law enforcement agencies duly consider the appeal on arbitrary arrest of a DPR supporter and release her.

According to the Ombudsman Office, Daria Mastikasheva was allegedly kidnapped by officers of Ukrainian secret services on the day when she was leaving for Moscow, on 15 August 2017, in the city of Kamenskoye, Dnepropetrovsk oblast. SSU officers accused her of recruiting former participants of the so-called ATO to prepare acts of terrorism in Moscow so that to put the blame on Kiev later.

“I want to underline that Ukrainian authorities should immediately investigate the statement that Mastikasheva had been illegally detained by the Security Service and was tortured for a long time. Also, law enforcement agencies should immediately release this person. Instead, they constantly prolong the period of detention in a remand prison without reasonable evidence and investigative actions,” Morozova said to journalists.
