Comment from Daria Morozova on appeal of Vladimir Zelensky to residents of Republics

Blatant mockery. This is the only way to characterize the appeal of the Ukrainian President Zelensky to the residents of the DPR and LPR. “Ukraine is open to you in every sense of the word … And it should be associated with such words as” “convenience”, “comfort” and “safety”… There should be a piece of Happiness in these territories”, – he said.

This impassioned speech was addressed to us in the context of the situation with the Ukrainian checkpoints, which last week unilaterally and without agreement with the Republics began to pass citizens. Indeed, this step fully reflects the special attention with which the Kiev authorities intend to “make us happy”. It is so humane to open borders when the daily number of COVID-19 cases in the country already exceeds 12 thousand people. It is so thoughtful to let mothers and babies out into the gray zone, knowing full well that the Republican checkpoints do not work and other solutions were not even discussed.

By the way, Vladimir Aleksandrovich is also infected with COVID-19, and has been on self-isolation in recent days. Perhaps, feeling ill prevented him from choosing a reasonable line of dialogue with the residents of the DPR and LPR, since the pseudo-peacemaking slogans simply do not stand up to criticism.

What kind of openness of Ukraine for the Republics is Mr. Zelensky talking about?! It’s impossible at the moment when the Verkhovna Rada is considering a bill providing for the detention and forced resettlement of Russian citizens to specially equipped places on the territory of Ukraine! In fact, in this way, the Kiev authorities are trying to legalize concentration camps for Russians. So where is the Ukrainian president inviting us, in isolation?

Apparently, he either doesn’t know the key legislative initiatives in his state, or simply makes a mockery of the millions of Donbas residents.

In his speech, Zelensky urged us to draw conclusions. And we made them. Only a complete ceasefire and implementation of the Minsk agreements can be evidence of openness and peaceful attitude of Ukraine. And in the meantime, all the statements and actions of the official Kiev are provocations and self-promotion, which only increase the gap between Donbas and Ukraine.
