2 complaints on arrest received by DPR Ombudsman Office

Between 26 February and 2 March, the Ombudsman Office was reported on the detention of a man born in 1977, while he was crossing the border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation in January 2016. Another man, born in 1986, was arrested by police officers in April 2017, in Artyomovsk.

As of 02.03.2018, 297 persons are being held by the Ukrainian side, including 81 of those whose presence in the territory of Ukraine had been confirmed; 216 persons, whose whereabouts are unknown or are being clarified by the official Kiev.

This week the Ombudsman Office didn’t receive any applications with regard to DPR supporters that went missing. As of 2 March 2018, there are 446 persons considered missing. Hypothetically, they might be in Ukrainian captivity.
