Dear compatriots, today we are celebrating the National Flag Day of the Donetsk People’s Republic as a special holiday for our young state.
The Donetsk tricolor has already become a symbol of freedom, solidarity and steadfastness of Donbas residents. This is a symbol of their strong resolve in struggle for justice and rights. Indeed, it was the desire to protect their language, culture and the memory of their ancestors that forced ordinary residents of cities and villages of the then Donetsk region in 2014 to take to the streets and show the illegally usurped power in Ukraine that we are! And one of the main desires was our opinion must be taken into account!
Then our flag and idea were born… The idea embodied today in the Donetsk People’s Republic as a new and independent state.
