On June 3, during a briefing on the basis of the Donetsk News Agency, DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova announced mass facts of kidnapping by Ukrainian special services of relatives of DPR servicemen and officials living on the territory of Ukraine.
“We are receiving information about the abductions of citizens of this category and their detention in secret prisons. There is information about the use of torture and illegal interrogation methods against abducted persons. Thus, representatives of Kyiv are trying to put pressure on the activists of Donbass and the Russian World, blackmail them, force them to cooperate and transfer data,” she stressed.
The Ombudsman noted that Ukrainian special services have been actively practicing out-of-court detentions since 2014 in accordance with the methodology of the United States and Great Britain. At the same time, with the beginning of the special operation, kidnappings in Ukraine because of ideological reasons not only resumed, but also became massive in scope. Moreover, facts of kidnapping of minors have been recorded.
The briefing was also attended by an officer of the command staff of the DPR People’s Militia Vladimir Demchenko. He asked for legal assistance to Daria Morozova in connection with the kidnapping of his daughter and told reporters the details of what had happened.
Daria Morozova noted that the DPR does not see a proper reaction from the ICRC and the UN to the criminal actions of Kyiv, although it regularly informs them officially about all the revealed facts. This position of these international organizations testifies to the one-sided and biased nature of their activities on the territory of Ukraine.
At the same time, the Ombudswoman emphasized that in the DPR, investigations into cases of kidnappings of relatives of ideological supporters of Donbass are under special control.
“We have well-established mechanisms for responding and returning people home. In this connection, I call on all citizens who have suffered as a result of such out-of-court methods of work of the Ukrainian special services to apply to the competent authorities of the Republic. I draw your attention to the fact that it is not worth delaying the appeal as it leads to a loss of time and compounds the situation. I also warn against cooperation with the Ukrainian special services and remind you that such actions are qualified as high treason and are criminally punishable,” the Ombudswoman said.
