Since 2014, over 29,000 people have already received injuries of varying severity on the territory of the DPR as a result of hostilities. In a deteriorating security situation, the need to provide injured citizens with qualified medical care is extremely high. And I am sincerely grateful to everyone who understands this issue and treats the people of Donbass with an open heart.
Assistance in providing assistance to affected citizens is one of the priorities of the Republican Human Rights Institute. To date, we have a successful experience of cooperation in this issue with the Ural doctors. In the framework of the interaction with the Human Rights Ombudsman in the DPR, LLC Rehabilitation of Doctor Volkova has already accepted 24 patients from the Republic for rehabilitation. These are both civilians and defenders from the DPR. Just the other day, we sent another group of citizens to Yekaterinburg.
The clinic specializes in helping people with rehabilitation potential for spinal and bone injuries. The course lasts from 3 weeks to one and a half months. For our citizens it is free of charge.
Today my representatives communicated with Alexey Dragomiretsky. He is one of those who have already gone through rehabilitation and can evaluate its effectiveness. I was glad to know that Alexei is all right. He said that the rehabilitation showed a good result and expressed gratitude to the doctors for their attitude and professionalism.
For my part, I will say that today every initiative aimed at restoring the health of our compatriots is significant. I am sure that by joining forces we will be able to help more people who need treatment.
