The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of the Donetsk People’s Republic will create a database of temporary displaced persons on the territory of the Republic to assign and pay monetary compensation to them. This was proposed by the Head of the Ministry of Social Policy Larisa Tolstykina during the meeting with the Head of state Alexander Zakharchenko. “There is no special body that deals with registration of displaced persons in the Republic, so they cannot receive social benefits. Therefore, we proposed that the local labor and social protection authorities will register displaced persons,” Tolstykina said.

According to her, displaced persons will receive the payments after they register and receive a certificate required. The Ministry of Social Policy plans to involve the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of State Security and the Migration Service of the Republic in this work.

The discussion continued behind closed doors. Minister of Finance Ekaterina Matyushchenko, Head of the Central Republican Bank Irina Nikitina, Minister of Revenue and Duties Alexander Timofeyev, Head of the Migration Service of the DPR Ministry of the Internal Affairs Vladimir Krasnoshchoka, Human Rights Ombudsman in the DPR Daria Morozova, Head of the Pension Fund Galina Sagaydakova and others took part in the discussion of social protection of displaced persons.

It is to be noted that according to the latest data of the DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova, there are 8,296 temporary displaced persons on the territory of the Republic who had to leave their homes as a result of hostilities in Donbass. 1480 of them live in Temporary Accommodation Centres of the Republic. Other people are provided with temporary accommodation by local authorities.
