UKRAINIAN MILITANTS HAVE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WAR CRIMES IN ARTYOMOVSK AT INTERNATIONAL LEVEL – DARIA MOROZOVA

Briefings and press conferences Comments and statements of the Ombudsman Daria Morozova News

Today, we have a meeting with representatives of local, federal and foreign media in the format of press-conference. The topic is war crimes of the armed forces of Ukraine in the liberated city of Artyomovsk. Accent is made on the facts of mass killings of civilians, including by the blowing up of residential buildings. Journalists could learn details firsthand from people, who could survive and escape from the hell created by Kiev.

A situation in Artyomovsk once again confirms ruthlessness of the Ukrainian authorities towards civilians of Donbass. It also proves correctness of the decision of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to launch the special military operation.

I’d like to emphasize that criminal cases on the facts of crimes by Ukraine in Artyomovsk were opened. Their investigations are carried out by competent authorities of the Russian Federation.

From my side, I’ll officially inform about these facts Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova, as well as international human rights organizations.

I believe that assessment of the actions of Ukrainians militants have to be done not only in national legislation of Russia and Ukraine. Kiev blatantly violated international norms of humane treatment during the war established by the Geneva Conventions. We are talking about war crimes, and perpetrators have to take responsibility at the international level.

It should be reminded, that war crimes have no statute of limitations. Tribunal for Ukraine will be done sooner or later. And I want the international community to be fully aware its responsibility. Because the longer the so called civilized world indulges Kiev terrorists, the more tragedies as they were in Artyomovsk will be.
