Ukraine ignored the proposition of Donbass to perform the exchange under the formula “618 for 47”

During today’s meeting in Minsk participants of the humanitarian subgroup failed to come to agreement on the largest exchange of prisoners since the beginning of the conflict in Donbass under the formula “618 for 47”, as proposed earlier by representatives of the Donetsk People’s Republic. This was announced today by Victoria Talakina, press-secretary of the Head of DPR delegation at the Minsk talks, the chairman of the People’s Council Denis Pushilin.

“There was no response to the proposal of Donbass on the exchange of prisoners “618 for 47”, made to the Ukrainian side at the last meeting. Unfortunately, the subgroup on humanitarian issues failed to reach agreement on this issue today. However, we never give up and will do our best to free our people.”

Talakina added that the issue of teenage saboteurs recruited by Ukrainian special services was discussed as part of the meeting. However, the Ukrainian side paid no attention to this question. “The DPR considers it inadmissible to involve minors in diversive activities and insists on bringing to justice those who recruited them,” she said.

It is to be recalled that on September 21 during the meeting of the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk, the Donetsk People’s Republic invited Kiev to exchange POWs under the formula “618 for 47”. Relevant written proposal was sent to the Ukrainian side.
