The mother of Yulia Prosolova detained in Ukraine thanked the OSCE Coordinator in the Humanitarian Subgroup Tony Frisch for visiting her daughter, as reported by the press-service of the DPR Ombudsman Office.

On 4 October 2018, the Court of Mariupol sentenced a DPR citizen Yulia Prosolova to 12 years of imprisonment. She was arrested in October 2017 on charges of murder of SSU Colonel Alexander Kharaberiush. According to the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasily Gritsak, the woman allegedly cooperated with the Ministry of State Security (MSS) of the DPR, although the MSS denied this fact.

“The mother of Yulia Prosolova, convicted for the murder of Colonel of the SSU Alexander Kharaberiush, thanked Tony Frisch for visiting her daughter in Ternopol correctional colony No. 63,” says the report.

According to the Ombudsman’s Office, the OSCE representative promised to visit Julia in May. He also said that he had submitted a request to the Ukrainian side for the transfer of the woman to a penitentiary institution in Kharkov. As the Ombudsman’s press service informed, her mother insists on Prosolova’s transfer to Kharkov to be able to visit her daughter.

Tony Frisch has been dealing with this case since 2018. For the first time, he tried to visit her in October after the request of the DPR representatives in Minsk to visit Donbass residents detained in Ukraine. Kiev then did not allow the OSCE representative to the detained woman. Two days later, she was sentenced to 12 years in prison. The second attempt Mr. Frisch made in December. This time he managed to meet the detainee. After the visit, the Subgroup Coordinator asked the Ukrainian side to pay attention to the health state of the woman.

Today, the OSCE Coordinator in the Humanitarian Subgroup Tony Frisch held a meeting with relatives of detainees held in Ukraine and missing persons. Daria Morozova also took part in the meeting.
