The transfer of biological material taken from alleged relatives of victims of Ukrainian aggression took place in order to conduct genetic analysis and create DNA passport

Today, on September 30, at the Republican Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination of the Ministry of Health of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the first transfer of biological material taken from the alleged relatives of the victims of Ukrainian aggression and persons searching for relatives who disappeared in the LPR during the active phase of the military conflict took place.

In the future, a genetic analysis of the materials that were provided will be carried out and a personal DNA passport will be created, which allows further identification of the remains recovered from mass graves on the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic.

The event was attended by: Human Rights Ombudsman in the DPR Daria Morozova, Chairperson of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Search for Missing Persons, Burial Places of Bodies (Remains) of the Deceased (Dead) in the Armed Conflict Areas in Donbass.

It should be reminded that on 6 August 2021, by Order of the Head of the DPR No. 274 Denis Pushilin, an Interdepartmental Commission for the Search for Missing Persons, Burial Places of Bodies (Remains) of Deceased (Dead) in the Armed Conflict Areas in Donbass was created in the Republic.

The Chairperson of the Commission, the Human Rights Ombudsman in the DPR Daria Morozova, calls on all residents of the DPR, LPR, Donbass territories temporarily controlled by Kiev, as well as other states with an appeal to provide any data that may contribute to search activities.

Relatives of the missing and eyewitnesses to the events associated with the disappearance of people in Donbass can call a special “hot” line or send information in writing.
