The following events became important for the Republic this week.
The liberation of our lands from Ukrainian armed gangs continued. Defenders of Donbass beat the enemy on all fronts. The position of the AFU is especially deteriorating in the Artemovsk direction, where terrorists lose hundreds of militants every day. Thanks to the competent actions of Russian soldiers, it was possible to liberate the settlements of Nikolaevka and Sacco i Vanzetti.
Against the backdrop of the advance of our troops, legislative initiatives aimed at providing social support for the participants of the SMO played an important role. For example, amendments to the draft law on the integration of new regions into the Russian Federation in the field of education and science submitted to the State Duma. We are talking about giving demobilized students of Donbass the right to transfer from a paid form of education to the budget.
Also important issue from the point of view of improving the military-political situation in the Republic was the decision to include the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions in the Southern Military District.
Another good news is that the military builders of the Russian Ministry of Defense have completed the construction of another water conduit in the DPR, connecting the wells of the village of Kipuchaya Krinitsa and the water intake facility Yuzhny in Donetsk. Work at the facility began in October 2022. During this time, a 36 km long pipeline was laid, pumping and transformer substations were erected. After the pipeline is put into operation, the builders will start building a new water conduit from the water intake Shevchenkovsky in the Dokuchaevsky district to Donetsk.
All this contributes to solving the sore problem for the Republic with water supply and returning the inhabitants of our cities to a comfortable life.
Since the beginning of 2023, the Ombudsman received 2153 complaints.
- Death toll and injuries to civilians and soldiers as a result of hostilities in the territory of the Donetsk People`s Republic
The DPR Ombudsman’s Office documents cases of violations of Donbass citizens’ rights by the Ukrainian side, including the right to life, personal integrity and freedom of movement.
2. Register of displaced persons and affected citizens
At the time of armed conflict, the civilian population living in the zone of fighting and near the contact line is often affected. With the view to protect the human right to life and security of the person, and to provide assistance to victims as a result of armed aggression by Ukraine, there social facilities (dormitories, preventative clinics, health care centres).
In accordance with the Order of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic No. 137 of 24.04.2018, territorial commissions in cities and districts are now responsible for accommodating affected civilians. They work under the supervision of the Republican Commission on Resettlement of Affected Persons chaired by the DPR Human Rights Ombudsman.
