This week was marked by the following significant events for the Republic.
Residents of the DPR held a rally in memory of the victims of the crash of the Malaysian Boeing-777. The participants honoured the victims of the tragedy with a moment of silence and laying flowers at the memorial erected at the crash site.
The plane of the Malaysian Airlines, flying on the route Amsterdam – Kuala Lumpur, was shot down by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and crashed on July 17, 2014 in the village of Grabovo near Torez. All 298 people on board, including 80 children, died.
Such crimes against civilians have already become a trademark of Ukrainian terrorists. The AFU, powerless on the battlefield, always choose the civilian population as an enemy.
The best confirmation of this is the terrorist attack that took place on the Crimean bridge. During the drone attack on a civilian facility, one span of the bridge collapsed, and another span sank. The victims were a man and a woman from the Belgorod region, their daughter is in a hospital in serious condition.
In connection with the terrorist attack, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR set up a assistance centre in the Novoazovsky district, where citizens of the Republic can rest on their way to Crimea. Passers-by are also helped by local volunteers.
Despite the attempts of the AFU to destabilize the situation in the country, our people once again demonstrated their unity and steadfastness.
In turn, our defenders continue to push the enemy along the entire front line. So, in the Artemovsky and Krasnolimansky directions, the Ukrainian military were once again defeated in an attempt to attack the positions of Russian military personnel. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue active actions to liberate Donbass from Ukrainian militants.
The week was not without good economic and humanitarian news. Thus, against the background of the news about the termination of the Grain Deal, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation reported today that the farmers of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions harvested 340.4 thousand tons of grain crops, 15.8 thousand tons of legumes and 2.7 thousand tons of vegetables. This harvest became a record.
Since the beginning of 2023, the Ombudsman received 13409 complaints.
- Death toll and injuries to civilians and soldiers as a result of hostilities in the territory of the Donetsk People`s Republic
The DPR Ombudsman’s Office documents cases of violations of Donbass citizens’ rights by the Ukrainian side, including the right to life, personal integrity and freedom of movement.
2. Register of displaced persons and affected citizens
At the time of armed conflict, the civilian population living in the zone of fighting and near the contact line is often affected. With the view to protect the human right to life and security of the person, and to provide assistance to victims as a result of armed aggression by Ukraine, there social facilities (dormitories, preventative clinics, health care centers).
In accordance with the Order of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic No. 137 of 24.04.2018, territorial commissions in cities and districts are now responsible for accommodating affected civilians. They work under the supervision of the Republican Commission on Resettlement of Affected Persons chaired by the DPR Human Rights Ombudsman.
