STATEMENT BY DARIA MOROZOVA ON REMEMBRANCE DAY OF THE CHILDREN – VICTIMS OF WAR IN DONBASS

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

The death of a child is the worst thing that can happen in a human life. Unfortunately, for many residents of Donbass, this fear has turned into a monstrous reality… A reality created by the militants of the armed formations of Ukraine, who daily fired hundreds of shells and rockets at our houses.

For eight years now we have been falling asleep and waking up with anxious thoughts about our children, about their future. For eight years we have been desperately protecting them from every minute danger. And they grew up too early. We learned aurally to determine what weapons the Kyiv militants are using. And with broken hearts they mourn their peers who have gone forever with the sounds of war.

The Day of Remembrance of Children-Victims of War in Donbass is not just a memorable date. This is our cry to the whole world:

“Wake up! Our children are being killed! And you, closing your eyes to this and continuing to supply weapons to Ukraine, become accomplices of monstrous crimes!”

Children need peace. And today for us as adults, there is no more important goal. We must stop the genocide by the Ukrainian authorities and forever suppress attempts to revive Nazism in memory of the innocent victims, for the safety of all who will carry this memory through the ages.
