In order to ensure respect for the rights and freedoms of the Republic citizens, on February 27, the staff of the Human Rights Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic attended a court hearing of the criminal case against a citizen born in 1959 that took place in Kirov Inter-District Court in Donetsk, DPR. The above-mentioned citizen had previously applied to the Ombudsman with a request to restore his violated rights.
We remind you that the Ombudsman may decide that the staff of the Ombudsman Office attend court hearings, both the Courts of General Jurisdiction and the Higher Court, on the basis of a written application for monitoring compliance with human rights and freedoms, as well as possible identification of relevant violations.
