On 8 August, Staff of the Human Rights Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic once again visited persons held in Donetsk Remand Prison of the State Service of State Penitentiary Service of the DPR Ministry of Justice.
During the visit, the human rights advocates conducted a private reception of citizens detained in remand prison. As a result of the interviews, no complaints on detention conditions and the regime of detention were received.
Also, staff of the DPR Ombudsman Office provided legal advice for citizens on issues relating to criminal procedure and clarified the procedure for filing an appeal with the Human Rights Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
DPR Ombudsman carries out constant supervision of the observance of the legislation as regards detention conditions in pre-trial detention facilities and penal institutions.
