With the view to check the arguments stated in the complaints, as well as to take necessary measures to restore rights and freedoms, the DPR Ombudsman decided to interview particular convicts, held in Donetsk Remand Prison of the State Service for Execution of Punishment of the DPR Ministry of Justice.
As a result of the interviews, staff of the Ombudsman Office provided legal advice to accused and convicted persons; clarified the rights and freedoms under norms of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Also, human rights defenders clarified the procedure of submission of a motion in court and legal grounds necessary to lodge a complaint with the Ombudsman.
