Seven citizens receive Ombudsman’s assistance at on-site reception in Yenakievo

On 29 May, staff of DPR Ombudsman Office held an on-site reception of citizens at the City Administration of Yenakievo.

Seven citizens asked for legal advice and assistance in restoring their rights from representatives of the Ombudsman’s Office. At the on-site reception, questions were raised concerning housing registration, collection of salary arrears, payment of social benefits to liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, provision of medical assistance to a remand prisoner, imposing compulsory medical measures to a person suffering from a mental disorder, refusal of the Central Republican Bank to issue a debit card as part of a payroll programme.

Representatives of the Ombudsman Office, the main human rights institution, gave detailed advice on the above-mentioned issues and provided a detailed clarification of the norms of the current legislation. One oral and three written appeals from citizens have been accepted for further consideration by the DPR Ombudsman within her competence.
