For a month and a half, 16 supporters of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics were detained by the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the areas of Donbass, temporarily controlled by Kiev. This was reported to DNA by the press service of the DPR Ombudsman’s Office today.
“According to the official data from SSU, within the period of 1 February and 12 March , 16 people were detained on the territories of Donbass temporarily controlled by Kiev. They are accused of informational assistance to the Republics,” the department noted.
The Ombudsman’s Office added that 118 people were detained in the territory of Ukraine and Donbass regions temporary controlled by Kiev, 40 of them are suspected of involvement in the activities of the DPR and the LPR, according to the statistics of the SSU for the period of 12 – 15 March. As it was informed by the press-service, since February 1 until now nine appeals on illegal detention of supporters of the Republic by power structures of Ukraine were registered by the Ombudsman’s Office.
It should be added that, according to the data of the Office of Daria Morozova, the Ukrainian side imprisons about 785 supporters of the DPR and the LPR. Among them, there are 476 people whose presence on the Ukrainian territory has been confirmed and 305 people, whose whereabouts are unknown or are being clarified by the Ukrainian side.
