In accordance with the schedule of inspections of children’s institutions of the Republic, representatives of the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman in the DPR visited the Child Welfare Centre in the city of Yenakiyevo.
On the course of the visit, the educational process and the conditions of the children’s stay were checked. Also during a meeting with the senior management of the Centre, human rights workers raised issues related to the quality of education, material, medical and sanitary support for children, as well as cultural and educational development.
This Centre is an institution of social protection, where children aged 3 to 18, who find themselves in difficult circumstances, stay for nine months and are provided with comprehensive social, psychological, pedagogical, legal and other types of assistance. Assistance is actively provided in the formation of their own life position in children in order to overcome the habits of antisocial behaviour.
The work of the staff was evaluated very positively. But at the same time, human rights workers drew the attention of the institution’s management to the need to eliminate the roof leak, repair windows and the gym, as well as purchase hygienic seats.
Employees of the Ombudsman’s Office express gratitude to the management and staff of the Centre for the conscientious performance of their duties.
