On November 11, representatives of the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic, as part of interagency cooperation with state authorities to improve the current legislation in the field of human and civil rights and freedoms, attended an extraordinary plenary meeting of the autumn session of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic of the 2nd convocation.

With a view to ensuring the implementation of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements the MPs unanimously adopted the Resolution of the DPR People’s Council “On ensuring the security of the Donetsk People’s Republic in disengagement areas.”

The document is called to prevent the Ukrainian national police and (or) the forces of the national guard of Ukraine from entering the disengaged area of the Petrovskoe village, which could lead to the breakdown of the peaceful agreements reached to settle the conflict in Donbass and pose threat both to the security of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the life and health of its citizens.

Thus, if Ukraine deploys national police forces and (or) national guard forces in the disengagement area, the Donetsk People’s Republic will take similar response measures. The withdrawal of forces and hardware in other areas is impossible until Ukraine withdraws its troops from the agreed areas.

The said Decision entered into force from the moment of adoption.
