Representatives of Human Rights Ombudsman visit Social Rehabilitation Centre in Torez

Staff of DPR Ombudsman Office inspected the provision of social services and medical care in Social Rehabilitation Centre in Torez for disabled persons and children with disabilities named “Nadezhda” (Hope).

At the moment, 33 children aged 2-18 and 21 persons aged 18-35 with disabilities undergo outpatient treatment in the institution.

The centre is a two-storey building with a room for preventive treatment, a massage room, a sports hall for physical therapy, a gym, a music hall a playroom, as well as rooms for tea parties and educational technology.

Under the supervision of staff of the institution, patients make handcrafted items from paper, do woodburning and other arts and crafts. In the view to ensure comprehensive development of creative and spiritual potential, they take part in exhibitions, attend cinema, take excursions to memorable places of the Republic, Also, they participate in festive events, poetry readings, and sports competitions.

As a result of the inspection, staff of the Human Rights Ombudsman Office gave a positive assessment to the provision of social services and medical care in Social Rehabilitation Centre in Torez for disabled persons and children with disabilities named “Nadezhda” (Hope).

DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova expressed gratitude to the administration and staff of the facility for faithful implementation of their duties.
