Representatives of Human Rights Ombudsman visit psycho-neurological boarding house in Kirovskoe

Staff of DPR Ombudsman Office inspected living conditions, social services and the provision of medical care in Kirovskoe psycho-neurological boarding house. At the moment, 442 persons over the age of 18 who need nursing care live in the institution.

The institution has several blocks: for residence, administration offices and a dining unit with a bakery and a cookroom. The two-storey block for men has bedrooms, a canteen, an assembly hall, rooms for meetings, for relaxing, a prayer room, a medical unit, rooms for physical therapy and medical personnel, bathrooms and other rooms. Women live in two one-storey buildings. There is a block for shut-in patients and people who have difficulty walking. Outside there is a walking area with arbours, a boiler house, garages and other service buildings. There is a subsidiary farm in the territory of the institution.

Medical personnel look after patients 24 hours. Once a year, a complete medical examination is conducted by specialized professionals.

As a result of the inspection, staff of DPR Ombudsman Office revealed several unsatisfactory aspects to be improved. The human rights defenders will visit the institution again.
