As part of consideration of complaints, staff of DPR Ombudsman’s Office interviewed three applicants, who are in custody of Donetsk Remand Prison of the State Service of State Penitentiary Service of the DPR Ministry of Justice.
The remand prisoners raised issues related to the inability to exercise a right to legal assistance. The human rights defenders gave advice on available remedies. Also, clarification on the applicable criminal procedure legislation was provided for the applicants.
The interviewees specified that they had no complaints related to actions of the administration of the remand prison.
