Representatives of DPR Ombudsman Office held an on-site reception of citizens in Nikishino village, Shakhtersk region.
At the reception, human rights defenders considered issues related to poor condition of the road pavement in the village, problems with public transport connections with the cities of Debaltsevo and Shakhtersk, and providing citizens with solid fuel. Residents were also concerned about the lack of personnel with higher medical education at the local outpatient clinic.
Another pressing issue for locals is restoring residential houses destroyed as a result of hostilities. Of 200 houses damages in hostilities, only 20 have been restored. Many people are still living in temporary dwellings in Nikishino.
Based on the above-mentioned facts, the Ombudsman calls on public authorities of the Donetsk People’s Republic to pay attention to problems faced by citizens of the village and take appropriate response measures within their authority.
