On 20 February, staff of DPR Ombudsman Office held an on-site reception of citizens in the city of Enakievo.
At the reception, human rights defenders addressed issues connected with the improvement of public infrastructure in Enakievo. In particular, citizens expressed concerns about insufficient street lighting and poor condition of motorways.
Also, they raised the issue of presence of medical personnel at the checkpoints of the DPR, which they deem necessary in case people crossing the checkpoint have health issues.
Also, representatives of the Ombudsman Office gave advice on the procedure of appealing against actions of law enforcement agencies, resolving problems connected with issuing passport of a DPR citizen arising due to specificities of formal procedures to obtain them. Issues related to exercise of court verdicts in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
In order to solve problems that require the Ombudsman to take appropriate response measures within the competence, human rights defenders assisted in drawing up and filing written appeals, which will be fully and comprehensively considered within the period established by law.
With the view to ensure respect to citizens’ rights and freedoms, as well as to explain the forms, means and methods of protection of their rights, representatives of the Ombudsman conduct on-site receptions in cities of the Republic.
The next on-site reception will be held in Torez, it is scheduled for 27 February.
