Representatives of DPR Ombudsman conduct inspection in Social Centre in Yenakievo

Staff of the Human Rights Ombudsman Office inspected living conditions and social support for vulnerable categories of citizens in the in-patient department for temporary residence of the Regional Social Service Centre of the Administration of Yenakievo.

At the moment, 27 physically challenged citizens of advanced age in need of constant care live in the Centre.

The Centre is a two-storey building with the in-patient department on the first floor and administrative offices on the second floor.  The in-patient department has 11 wards, a procedure room, bathrooms, a canteen, a dining unit, a laundry and a boiler house. There is a room for leisure-time activities. It has a TV-set, a piano, a small library, armchairs and sofas. Festive events are held in a large hall, where there is soft furniture and a TV-set.

The elderly are under constant medical supervision. In the procedure room, they undergo treatment, according to the doctor’s prescriptions. Head nurse supervises the procedures. Five nurses and seven nurse’s aides ensure adequate care.  Based on the agreement concluded with the public hospital, a doctor can be called to the Centre in case of need.

As a result of the inspection, staff of the Human Rights Ombudsman Office gave positive assessment to living conditions and social support for vulnerable categories of citizens in the in-patient department for temporary residence of the Regional Social Service Centre of the Administration of Yenakievo.

DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova expressed gratitude to the administration and staff of the facility for faithful implementation of their duties.
