On 25 June, as part of consideration of complaints, a representative of DPR Ombudsman’s Office interviewed two applicants, who are in custody of Donetsk Remand Prison of the State Service of State Penitentiary Service of the DPR Ministry of Justice.
The remand prisoners raised issues related to the procedure for granting visits, as well as to the presence of Ombudsman representatives at court hearings. A staff of the Ombudsman Office, the main human rights institution, provided a detailed clarification of the norms of the current legislation as to address the issues raised.
The interviewees specified that they had no complaints related to detention conditions in the remand prison.
