Events News

On August 3, volunteer psychologists conducted a psychological relief session with the children of internally displaced persons living in the “Shakhtyorskie Zori” accommodation centre.

Within the framework of the “Support Heroic Donbass” campaign, volunteer psychologists of the DPR Human Rights Office, led by Anna Solodovnik, conducted a correctional and relief session “Let’s be friends” for children residing in temporary accommodation centres of the Ombudsman’s Office.

The session involved two groups of children aged 6-9 and 10-14. Through team building games, children improved their communication skills. There were models of situations in which children had to address the challenges that have suddenly appeared. As a result of the session, children gained positive experience in overcoming challenging situations and managing them.

In July, activities aimed at psychological rehabilitation involved more than 170 children of preschool and primary school age and more than 60 teenagers. More than 30 parents of internally displaced persons took part in the sessions and therapy.

The sessions were held at temporary accommodation centres for internally displaced persons in Donetsk and Shakhtyorsk. Field sessions were also organised in the village of Staromykhailovka, Grabskoe village and Mnogopolie village. In the cities of Starobeshevo and Yasinovataia, psychological relief activities were organized for citizens.
