On documents confirming status of citizens affected by Chernobyl disaster, and persons assimilated to them, and on determining procedure for their issuance

We inform you that in order to comply with the legal rights and social guarantees of citizens, as well as before a resolution of the question of issuing certificates confirming the status of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster, and persons assimilated to them living in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic signed the Decree of 23 December 2021 No. 385 “On documents confirming the status of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster, and persons assimilated to them, and on determining the procedure for their issuance.”

Thus, it was established that a certificate confirming the status of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster, and persons assimilated to them, issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Donetsk People’s Republic, is a document granting such citizens the right to use the benefits and compensations provided for them.

In addition, the Ministry was instructed to approve the Provisional Order for issuing certificates to citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster and persons assimilated to them living in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (the Provisional Order).

At the same time, it was determined that citizens who were issued documents confirming their status after 01 January 2019 by the state bodies of Ukraine, are issued certificates in accordance with the Provisional Order.

Certificates confirming the status of citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster, and persons assimilated to them, issued on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic from June 2015 until the entry into force of the Provisional Order, must be replaced within one year from the date of the entry into force of the Provisional Order.
