Today the DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova had a meeting with the Head of the UN Special Monitoring Mission on Human Rights Fiona Frazer.
Humanitarian situation that has changed by the recent escalation of the conflict was discussed in the meeting. Daria Morozova drew the attention of the UN representatives to the issues of accommodating and providing with necessities those citizens who had been forced to leave their home due to the shelling and seek shelter in the temporary accommodation centers. The UN representatives expressed their concern regarding the escalation in Donbass.
The issues of persons detained both by the Donetsk People’s Republic and Ukraine were also under discussion.
It is necessary to remind that the UN representatives have previously visited places of detention of Ukrainian prisoners of war and ensured that the conditions are in keeping with international requirements.
