Ombudsman Representatives attend plenary session of DPR People’s Council

As part of cooperation with state bodies to improve the current legislation in the field of human and civil rights and freedoms, on November 29, representatives of the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic attended a plenary meeting of the autumn session of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic of the 2nd convocation.

With a view to strengthening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Donetsk People’s Republic, parliamentarians unanimously adopted in two readings the draft law “On the state border of the Donetsk People’s Republic”, which creates the legal framework for the implementation of the border policy and, at the same time, determine the powers of the relevant state authorities ensuring the security of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Also, at the plenary session, the parliamentarians unanimously adopted the draft Law “On Amending the Law of the Donetsk People’s Republic “On Physical Culture and Sports” in two readings. The amendments bring the legal norms of the DPR Law “On Physical Culture and Sport” in accordance with the Laws “On Education”, “On State Supervision in the Sphere of Economic Activities”, “On the System of Executive Power Bodies of the DPR”, which will contribute to improving the law enforcement practice of the current legislation in the sphere of youth policy, physical education and sports of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Along with this, issues related to the implementation of state supervision and medical support in this field will be arranged, as well as issues of awarding athletic titles, qualification categories of judges, qualification categories of coaches etc.

In addition, deputies of the People’s Council of the DPR similarly in two readings adopted the draft law “On Amending Certain Laws of the Donetsk People’s Republic Regulating Relations in Healthcare”, which would eliminate legal conflicts that arise between the norms of the DPR Law “On Healthcare” and other legal acts.

The above laws will come into force from the date of official publication on the website of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
