Citizen Sh. applied to the Ombudsman of the Republic on the issue of assistance in the appointment of public relief for her niece on the occasion of the loss of a breadwinner. Thus, the niece applied to the territorial body of the OLSPP with the view to obtain public relief for persons from among orphans and children left without parental care, studying in full-time education, aged 18 to 23 years, who do not receive a pension on the occasion of loss of a breadwinner. The application for this assistance was previously denied.
As the applicant’s niece matches the criteria necessary for allocating assistance, the Ombudsman found a possible unjustified refusal on the part of the officials concerned. As part of interaction with the state bodies of the Donetsk People’s Republic, local authorities, the Ombudsman applied to the territorial body of the OLSPP for assistance in carrying out an additional verification of the circumstances in this case. According to the results of the inspection, the niece of citizen Sh. was granted the appropriate public relief on the occasion of the loss of a breadwinner. The applicant thanked the Ombudsman for the assistance provided to them.
It should be reminded that this type of public relief is provided on the basis of the Decree of the DPR Head No. 162 dated 29 April 2015 (with amendments and additions) and from 1 January 2021, and amounts to 5,760 Russian rubles 00 kopecks (for each person).
