Ombudsman presented awards to winners of student essay competition to Human Rights Day

Today, on the eve of the International Human Rights Day, the Ombudsman of the Republic presented awards to the winners of the essay competition among students on the topic “The role of human rights organizations and ombudsman institutions in unrecognized states”, which was held from 25.10 to 15.11.2021. The following participants were announced as winners:

First place:

Konovalov Anton Georgievich (4th year, DonNU, Faculty of History, Department of International Relations)

Second place:

Solonenko Kristina Mikhailovna (2nd year, DonNU, Faculty of Law)

Third place:

Dudnikov Daniil Evgenievich (4th year, DonNU, Faculty of History, Department of International Relations)

Students of higher educational institutions of the DPR in the next specialties: political science, international relations, journalism and legal professions were invited to participate in the competition. The purpose of this event is to update the topic of human rights observance, taking into account many factors that determine the specifics of the humanitarian situation of certain states.

Having made a speech, the Ombudsman personally handed the students certificates and valuable prizes. After the ceremony, the three winners were able to communicate with the Ombudsman on the topic of the human rights sphere in the DPR.

One of the important topics of the dialogue was the experience gained by the winners during the distance practice held in the Ombudsman’s Office from 1 to 10 December.
