Ombudsman congratulated servicemen of the separate battalion “Diesel” on Tanker Day

On Saturday, 12 September, Human rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic took part in the celebration that was dedicated to the Tanker Day in the city of Shakhtersk. The event, in the course of which, the servicemen of the separate tank battalion “Diesel” were honoured, was in the auditorium of the establishment for additional education “Art School of Shakhtersk”.

Ombudsman congratulated defenders of the Republic with the holiday, and also thanked the commander and personnel of the battalion for courage, bravery and perfect service.

“Dear servicemen! I express my congratulations on your professional holiday. I sincerely thank you for the valiant feat, which you did and continue to do, protecting the Motherland. I wish you peace in the soul, family and on our Donetsk land. Be happy, lets will be as many as possible reasons for the fun and laughing”, – Human rights Ombudsman in DPR Daria Morozova noticed.

In the course of the celebration, the servicemen, who distinguished themselves, got letters and presents. Also, participants of the event honoured the memory of tankmen, who died in battles, with the minute of silence.

It should be noted that Tanker Day celebrated each year on the second Sunday of September. The holiday was established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 11 July 1946 to commemorate feats of armoured and mechanized troops in defeating the enemy in years of the Great Patriotic War, and also feats of tank builders in equipping the Armed Forces of the state with armoured vehicles. The modern generation of tankmen of DPR proved that they are worthy of their heroic ancestors. Our servicemen, scarifying themselves stood up for the Fatherland and day by day continue to fight in the name of peace in Donbas.
