DPR Ombudsman Office provides humanitarian assistance to displaced persons living in Donetsk

Today, September 6, Dmitry Popov, Chief of Staff of the Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office in the DPR, delivered 18 household appliances to temporary accommodation centres for internally displaced persons in Donetsk.

“There are things to improve, and our task is not only to secure social rights of internally displaced persons and provide them with temporary housing. As before, we continue to improve the social and living conditions of internally displaced persons. Today we delivered ten refrigerators, six washing machines and two electric stoves to the temporary accommodation centres in Donetsk,” said Dmitry Popov, Chief of Staff of the Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office in the DPR.

We recall that during the armed conflict, 4747 people turned to Ombudsman’s Office for assistance in providing temporary accommodation, of which: in 2014 – 1236 people, in 2015 – 2919 people, 2016 – 592 people. Mostly these are citizens whose dwelling was damaged as a result of hostilities or located in areas that often come under attack. People living in the territory of Ukraine prosecuted by the Ukrainian authorities also turn to the DPR Ombudsman.
