NINE DPR DEFENDERS RETURNED HOME FROM UKRAINIAN CAPTIVITY

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

Today, with the assistance of DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova, nine servicemen of the DPR People’s Militia returned home from Ukrainian captivity. They were released last week as part of the agreements on the prisoner exchange reached between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

At the moment, the servicemen are in one of the medical institutions of the Republic. DPR Human Rights Ombudsman Daria Morozova visited the returned fighters in order to monitor the observance of their rights.

“I talked to our guys. Unfortunately, the facts of the use of illegal methods of influence by representatives of the AFU and Ukrainian special services against the detained participants of the special military operation have been confirmed once again. They even tortured a serviceman who was paralyzed as a result of a severe wound,” said Daria Morozova.

The released fighters will be provided with the necessary medical and psychological assistance.
