On 27 September a DPR Ministry of Information and “Kometa” radio organized a meeting with the Human Rights Ombudsman Daria Morozova.

The host of “Govoriat chto…” (People say…) program asked Daria Morozova: “What are the duties of the Ombudsman’s Office”.

“We accept and review complaints and appeals of any kind. People approach us on official and law-enforcement issues, on child adoption, on the exchange of prisoners of war. We always try to get to the heart of the matter. Since the beginning of the military conflict more than 8.5 thousand people were registered in the DPR as temporary displaced persons. We work in close cooperation with the Employment Centre, where more than 22 thousand vacancies are available. People receive humanitarian and financial assistance, we provide housing in our Temporary Accommodation Centres, and some household appliances. We also cooperate with international organizations.”

Participation in the meetings of the Minsk Format is one of the critical aspects. As an official representative of the Republic in Minsk, Dara Morozova, told about the opponents’ stance.

“We consider all humanitarian issues: missing persons, temporary displaced persons, issues related to paragraphs 5 and 6 of the Minsk Agreements – “all for all” exchange. Negotiations are complicated and long-lasting. The Ukrainian side shows no willingness to fulfill it. There is also the problem of children who were illegally moved out from the territory of the Republic. More than 500 children were transferred to the Ukrainian territory, and our requests to return them stay unaddressed,” – continued Daria Morozova.

On 31 August children-saboteurs were arrested. It is hard to imagine who could make those minors do subversive activities and by which means. As the Ombudsman sees the situation:

“Children are psychologically immature, we cannot charge them without an official representative of the opposing side. They are kept in good conditions. They are fed, they can walk outside. We are checking facts and waiting for the actions of Kiev.”

She summarized that none of the actions of Kiev will be left unaddressed.
