Kiev has no position on prisoner exchange, POW exchange date cannot be predicted – Morozova

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

The date of the new prisoner exchange in Donbass fully depends on Ukraine’s actions at the negotiations, DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova told the Donetsk News Agency today.

“So far, Ukraine has no position on the prisoner exchange,” Morozova said. “It’s impossible to predict the exact date.”

Morozova stressed that the DPR is ready for the exchange under “all confirmed for all confirmed” formula.

Earlier reports said that the humanitarian subgroup did not fully address the POW exchange issue at the meeting in Minsk on April 4 because Kiev had no agreed position on this issue.

The Donetsk People’s Republic and Ukraine last exchanged prisoners on December 27, 2017. Ukraine handed over 160 people to Donetsk, and the DPR handed over 57 people to Kiev.
