Kiev is able to exonerate detainees from charges in two weeks to perform exchange of POWs – Daria Morozova

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman Detention News

Ukraine is able to exonerate the detained DPR supporters from charges in two or three weeks to exchange them for the Ukrainian prisoners, but it is protracting the process instead, the DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova told Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.

“If we come to agreement, two or three weeks will be enough for Ukraine to exonerate people from charges and perform full exchange of POWs,” Morozova said.

She added that about a year ago, two hours was enough for Kiev to organize the return of 15 detainees.

Ukraine began to deliberately delay the exchange process about year ago. At that time, Morozova said, the main obstacle was the search for legal methods to exonerate detained DPR supporters from charges.

Then, Kiev has tried to manipulate the exchange of POWs, avoiding by all means the implementation of the Package of Measures.
