Today, on the basis of the Office of the Human Rights Ombudsman, a working meeting of the Ombudsman of the Republic with representatives of the Administration of the Head of the DPR, the Supreme Court, the General Prosecutor’s Office, the People’s Council, the Ministry of Justice and the Chamber of Advocates was held.
The agenda included issues of ensuring the rights of citizens to receive qualified legal assistance pro Bono, improving the current legislation in terms of providing legal assistance to the population.
The DPR Ombudsman identified problematic issues that impede the proper exercise by citizens of their constitutional right to protection and require a response.
In the course of joint communication between the participants of the working meeting, specific ways of resolving the existing problematic issues were developed. Daria Morozova thanked those present for their activity and concern. The next meeting of a similar format is scheduled for 15 December this year.
Further discussion of the issue of improving the current legislation will take place on the basis of the People’s Council of the DPR.
