The DPR Ombudsman visited the airport in Mariupol, where the infamous secret prison “Library” has been operating since 2014. At least 500 supporters of the Donbass Republics passed through the horrors of Ukrainian captivity within its walls. Many abductees never made it out of the airport alive…
On this trip, Daria Morozova was accompanied by direct eyewitnesses of those terrible events – former prisoners. Olga Seletskaya, Natalya Chernyavskaya and Mikhail Shubin, who were detained by the Ukrainian special services in the “Library” for supporting the DPR, told the Ombudsman firsthand about the monstrous crimes of the punishers, beatings and torture. They showed the places where the cells and torture chambers were located. They also confirmed the information about the presence of mass graves of brutally tortured prisoners of the “Library”.
“This is impossible to accept what the citizens who were detained at the Mariupol airport had to go through, namely water torture and torture with electric shocks, rape, beatings. One of the victims told how he was kept for the whole night in a grave with the corpses of tortured people. Now when we have gained access to the location, the investigation of the events in the “Library” has gone to a new level. In the near future, the search group will begin to survey the territory and search for the burial places of the dead,” Daria Morozova said.
