Today, during a briefing on the tragic consequences of the use of NATO weapons against the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of Donbass, I spoke about the role of Western countries and the world community in the intensification of hostilities in our region. I believe that the supply of weapons to Ukraine and the lack of a proper response to acts of genocide against the inhabitants of the DPR and LPR should be regarded as complicity with the criminal Kyiv regime.

Since 2014, the human rights institution of the Republic has been documenting the facts of war crimes of Ukraine in Donbass, and officially notifying international human rights organizations about each of them. Since the beginning of the SMO, more than 90 relevant letters have been sent to the UN and the ICRC on my behalf. However, in none of the cases was there a proper response. At the same time, it is obvious that if the international community had not indulged the Ukrainian authorities with its inaction, the war in Donbass would have ended long ago.

The critical security situation that has developed in the region today cannot can no longer be without attention of world human rights institutions. There is so much categorical evidence of Ukraine’s violation of the requirements of international humanitarian law that it will no longer be possible to remain silent. And most important of them are thousands of innocent victims of the Kyiv aggression. The international community must finally realize its responsibility for what is happening.

Together with colleagues from the Representative Offices of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine, we made a public appeal to the UN Security Council. It is this body that is responsible for the maintenance of international peace and security.

We demand an objective legal assessment of the actions of the Kyiv authorities in Donbass, stop the crimes of the armed formations of Ukraine and stop the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine, which are used to kill the civilian population of the region.
