Inclusion of Vladimir Ruban’s name in the exchange list does not mean his ties with the Republic – DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

“I would like to make it clear that the fact that Mr Ruban is included into the exchange list does not mean his relation to the Donetsk People’s Republic. The relations with him were only connected to the procedure of preparation of the exchanges, before signing Minsk Agreements. I received an application from Ruban Vladimir Vladimirovich. In the paper, he personally asked me to include his name in the exchange list … he saved the lives of many,” said Daria Morozova in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Also, the Ombudsman expressed her negative opinion regarding the treatment towards Ruban by the staffs of Ukrainian Security and Investigative Bodies and was confused that families of fighters released with his assistance remained inactive.

“For me, being a person who knows him personally, it is hard to hear that various measures of influence are being used against a Ukrainian officer. The most disgusting thing is that the Ukrainian servicemen, whom he released and transferred to Ukraine, did not stand up for him. Why our government is doing that, instead of those families he helped, and that live in the territory of Ukraine? …Donbass people have been, and continue to be humane. And the Ukrainian government has been driven by its own interests, and they continue to ignore what is happening around,” – said Daria Morozova.
