On 21 September, on the International Day of Peace, the Human rights Ombudsman in the DPR Daria Morozova performed as a speaker at a meeting with the students of the scientific and educational programme (SEP) of the Center for youth diplomacy “LEGATUS”.

The event was divided into two blocks. In the course of the first part, the Ombudsman had a conversation with the participants of the SEP in an informal setting. Young men and women asked the Ombudsman questions about her personal success story, family, principles of life, secrets of high productivity, and the atmosphere in the team.

The second block was held in the format of discussion. The participants examined the problems of observing human and civil rights and freedoms in the DPR and other countries. This topic for discussion on the International Day of Peace was not chosen by chance, because the pledge of ending wars and armed confrontations on the planet is the universal, unswerving observance of human and civil rights and freedoms.

The meeting of the Ombudsman with the students lasted more than two hours, and the conversation was emotional and productive.

“I am pleased with the outcomes of the discussion. It is gratifying to see that the young generation of the DPR is showing a genuine interest in the observance of human and civil rights and freedoms issue. At the same time, it is clear that the guys are interested in this topic and have a good knowledge base. I believe that they will become a worthy replacement for us and will professionally defend the interests of the Republic in the international arena”, – Daria Morozova emphasized.
